This retreat and seminar is surely a fabulous one. Tucked into an peaceful small island town of Naousa on Paros Island you will have an opportunity to enjoy yoga in the morning, and after breakfast study the secrets of the Ancient Greek Massage. This holistic healing technique was inspired by the Hippocrates' teachings, Dionysian manuals, little secrets coming from Homer's Odyssey and Iliad, as well as monastery secrets combined with special ingredients coming from the Greek land such as olive oil, honey, wine, balsam, laurel, wheatgrass, laudanum, cider vinegar & dittany.

The Greek Holistic Therapies are mainly based on ancient Greek Hippocratic texts and Greek organic products are included in their application. Involving elements of Greek culture and the Greek cell memory. Essentially they harmonize the three levels of human, body, emotional and spiritual.

For the ancient Greeks and Romans doctors, massage was one of the main ways of treating and alleviating pain.

At the beginning of the fifth century BC, Hippocrates, father of medicine, wrote:
'The physician must be aware of many things, but definitely need to know how to do ... rubbing rubbing Why can shake a very loose hinge and relax another very tight'

The holistic therapeutic massage treats the person as an entity and not just as a simple focus on some physical problems (the difference from the Swedish massage). In holistic massage behavior of both therapist and the receiver and the communication between them is critical for the outcome of treatment.

The role of the receiver is to be relaxed but alert, focusing the attention of the touch of the therapist, and the offeror must remain focused and transmit to the massage a true sense of caring.

The holistic therapeutic massage also affects the energy centers or chakras of the 'subtle body'. It is not uncommon during the session of holistic massage both participants to reach a high level of consciousness' presence in this 'experience similar to meditation.

About Naousa:
Naoussa is considered to be one of the prettiest villages in the Cyclades and despite the development of tourism, this lovely village has managed to keep its authenticity, its character and its charm with its whitewashed and flowered little houses and its tiny whitewashed churches and chapels, surrounded by labyrinth-like narrow, stone-paved streets.

The beautiful village of Naoussa is built amphitheatrically around a tiny picturesque port where small colourful fishing boats are mooring and where remains of a Venetian castle can still be seen creating an enchanting atmosphere.

Traditional Greek tavernas, ouzeries and trendy restaurants satisfy all culinary expectations while the visitor enjoys the picturesque surrounding environment.
