About the Program
We will focus in this program on Asana (yoga postures), Alignment, Teaching Skills, Teaching Practice, Hands and Voice on Adjustment, Pranayama (breathing exercise), Sounds-Mantras-Bhakti Yoga the yoga of devotion, Meditation, Yoga philosophy and basic yogic cleansing techniques. Dharma yoga, the main inspiration of this program, is a heart opening and mind-expanding yoga practice following the teachings of Sri Dharma Mittra who has been teaching yoga since 50 years. The posture practice will focus on Hatha-Vinyasa style and Restorative style.
There is a limit space of 15 students max in this training. Minimum number of participants is 6. This way, we can make sure that we give individual attention and support that each student needs during this very special time.

The course language and manual provided is English.

+ How to perform a posture in a correct alignment.

+ How to analyze a yoga pose, according to 5 basic key points.

+How to guide into a yoga posture and out of a yoga posture.

+ How to create your own self-practice.

+ Benefits and contraindications of yoga postures.

+How to create a successful and balanced sequences, which serves different goals.



Physical Anatomy:

+ The different systems of the body with focus on bones, muscles and joints.

+ How tension (of the muscles) and compression (of the bones) relates to how you do and understand your asana practice?

Pranayama (the control and expansion of vital energy), breathing techniques:
+What is Pranayama, what is Prana, and what is the connection between breathing exercises and the subtle body.

+ Practicing in depth the following Pranayam: Abdominal breathing, Full Yogic Breath, Alternated Nostrils, Kapalabhati, different breathing ratios, Breath retention and more.

+ The Yogic Locks (Bandhas): The root lock, the throat lock and Uddhiyana Bandha

+ The benefits and contraindications of breathing techniques.



Teaching Practice:
+ Teaching Skills: what is required from a yoga teacher in character and qualities. How to use your voice and body language when you teach.

+ What is a yogic traditional diet and how it relates to the three qualities of the universe.

Important Notes:
* If you would like to visit Machu Picchu site before or after the retreat please make sure you book your train tickets and entry tickets as early as possible. Do not leave it till you arrive in the Sacred Valley.
* if you are not accustomed to the high altitude we recommend you do not stay in Cuzco upon arrival but make way to the hotel in Sacred Valley, the altitude and climate in the Valley is much more friendly than Cuzco. You can visit Cuzco after the retreat, you will be used to the heights by then.

To apply to participate please send a note about yourself, your spiritual practice to-date and the motivation behind doing this retreat. Also enclose a photo of yourself where your eyes are visible and/or link your facebook account.
The shaman will decide whether he is interested in inviting you to the retreat and you will have a personal interview with the shaman via skype before you join the retreat. For this interview the shaman charges $150 in advance.
