Spiritual Myanmar (Burma) Yoga Retreat

Spiritual Myanmar (Burma) Yoga Retreat

Dates:

17 - 24 Jan 2019

Yoga means unity and is about exploring the body, mind, and spirit through a combination of physical asana, meditation and breathing techniques designed to bring the practitioner into a higher state of being.

There’s no better place to do this then in the spiritual country of Myanmar (Burma) , a fairy-tale land of sacred stupas, ancient traditions and spiritual reverence.

Our retreats aspire to be the ultimate getaway experience where our guests can focus on nothing but themselves and their practice. You will take your Yoga practice to the next level while experiencing the beautifully diverse culture of Myanmar.

Location

A land of fascinating history, gracious people and some of the foremost ancient architecture in Southeast Asia, after decades of sanctions, Myanmar recently reopened to tourism in 2011.

Today, the land that seduced scribes like Rudyard Kipling and George Orwell is as beguiling as ever. The near future will almost certainly see unprecedented numbers of pilgrims heading to traditional must-sees like Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, and Inle Lake.

The retreat is based at a mountain vineyard near Inle Lake. The area is often missed by tourists but has much to offer in way of tradition and tranquility.

Getting there: Most international flights arrive at Yangon International Airport. While bus (12 hours) and train (30 hours) options both exist, it’s a tedious journey to say the least. Your best option will be to fly to the main airport for the Inle Lake area, Heho.

Serviced by at least six domestic airlines you will find many flight options between Yangon and Heho and save yourself days in transit.

Pickup and drop off service will be arranged for you from the airport to the vineyard for arrival and departure.

Accommodation:
Our retreat centre is the beautiful Monte diVino Lodge at the unexpected, Aythaya Vineyard. Little known for its wines, it’s a rare opportunity to explore an emerging wine producing region where production is so limited that not a single bottle sees export.

The relaxing and intimate atmosphere features private bungalows with spacious living rooms and terraces, surrounded by natural settings, spectacular views of the Blue Mountains and vineyard with gorgeous sunsets.
